Normal mammogram results

About 90% of women who have a screening mammogram with us will be told that no sign of breast cancer was seen on their x-rays.

If you receive a letter telling you that you have a normal result, it will also tell you what you should do next.  Most women are asked to return for a mammogram in 2 years time.

You might be asked to follow up with your doctor if you reported any changes in your breasts during your screening mammogram.

If you receive a normal result letter you should continue to be aware of any changes in your breasts, as breast cancer can develop at any time between your regular screening mammograms.
