Breast Imaging Clinical Education Program
The Breast Imaging Clinical Education Program (BICEP) is a continuing professional development initiative of BreastScreen NSW, developed in collaboration with the University of Newcastle and the University of Sydney.
BICEP is intended for diagnostic radiographers performing breast imaging at BreastScreen NSW Screening and Assessment Services, private practices, public and private hospitals.
Radiographers from overseas and non-BreastScreen NSW staff are also able to complete BICEP following negotiation with the relevant service.
BICEP has been accredited by the Australian Institute of Radiography (AIR) and is currently available as a postgraduate unit at the University of Sydney.

Cancer Institute NSW Breast Imaging Clinical Fellowship Program
The Cancer Institute provides an annual Fellowship Program as a key radiologist workforce strategy. The Program aims to support advanced radiology trainees or newly qualified radiologists to undertake further training and research in breast imaging.

BreastScreen Reader Assessment Strategy
The BreastScreen Reader Assessment Strategy (BREAST) is a program based on digital screen reading test sets, designed to assess performance of screen readers and to provide immediate feedback to individual readers and BreastScreen services. The BREAST program is a collaboration between BreastScreen NSW and the University of Sydney.

Online breast cancer modules for rural health professionals
Cancer Australia, in collaboration with the Australian College of Rural and Remote Medicine (ACRRM), has developed a series of online modules about breast cancer treatment and care for rural health professionals.
These modules are accredited with the following professional colleges:
- ACRRM for one Core Continuing Professional Development point
- Royal Australian College of General Practitioners (RACGP) Quality Improvement and Continuing Professional Development Program (QI&CPD) for two Category 2 points
- Royal College of Nursing, Australia for one Continuing Professional Development (CPD) hour as part of RCNA’s Life Long Learning Program (3LP).
