BreastScreen NSW campaign urges women to screen

Published on 16/02/2025

Almost 50 per cent of women aged 50-74 in NSW are behind on their breast cancer screening. In response to this, we’ve launched campaigns across TV, radio, outdoor and online urging women to prioritise their health and book a mammogram.

‘Breast Cancer Doesn’t Wait’

The 'Breast Cancer Doesn’t Wait' campaign addresses the challenge many women face in prioritising their health amidst their busy schedules. Targeting women aged 50 - 74 in NSW, the campaign aims to increase the sense of urgency and encourage regular screening, with an added focus on Mandarin and Cantonese-speaking women.

‘Stay Healthy For You and Your Mob’

Despite more Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander women in NSW screening than ever before - many are still behind on their breast screens. To address this, the 'Stay Healthy For You and Your Mob' campaign acknowledges that while women are busy looking after their mob, they can forget to look after themselves. It encourages Aboriginal women aged 40-74 to put their health first by booking a free breast screen so they can stay healthy and strong for future generations.
